About Me

Bio

A small island in the Caribbean, best known for its picturesque beaches, smooth rum, and diminutive coquí frogs, is where I called ‘home’ for the first twenty-four years of my life. It was here that my passion for photography was born and where the initial footsteps of my artistic journey were laid on the ground. My shutterbug ways originated inside of my beloved house. I credit my sister for igniting my curiosity in photography and getting me interested in this art form.  I observed her using a pinhole and I didn’t understand how from a hole in a box a photograph could be born. This curiosity led me to enroll in a black and white photography class at theUniversity of Puerto Rico.

I began to visualize, conceptualize and compose photos in my head almost obsessively at times. The thrill of being an artist in this medium coursed through my veins daily giving birth to newfound creativity.  It was with this determination that in 2010 I earned a Master of Fine Arts inCommercial Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.  In 2014 I served my Country and worked as a Public Affairs photographer for the U.S. Army.
